Gujarat: Kejriwal Promises Electricity Cost Next To Nothing

| Updated: July 4, 2022 18:45

Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, interacted with the people of Gujarat on the issue of electricity during his two days visit to Ahmedabad. He said, “AAP party workers have surveyed the villages of Gujarat to understand the poor condition of electricity.” He asked the gathering to name the leaders who questioned them about the electricity issue. We changed things in Delhi and Punjab and could do the same in Gujarat.”

Further, Kejriwal said, “poor people are subject to light bills worth thousands of rupees.” He expressed his sadness towards the high prices of electricity. He mentioned that he would come to Ahmedabad on Sunday to discuss the same issue in detail. The Delhi Chief Minister urged the people of Gujarat to choose an honest government that does not charge them for minimal electricity.

Kejriwal slammed the BJP leaders for claiming that Gujarat had electricity for 24 hours without any power cuts.

“We do not ask for money from power companies, we improve them, and we work in the public interest. Other parties seek donations for elections from such companies, but we do not seek donations. You are our donation,” Kejriwal said.

“We said we have nothing to do if you gave money to former governments, but our government is honest. We will not ask for a single penny from you. They have not raised the rate in the last seven years,” the Delhi CM said.

“We provide subsidies to the public after saving money on corruption, which is why they enjoy free electricity. When we managed to do so in Delhi, the BJP and Congress thought it was impossible in a larger state. But, we won in Punjab,” he said.
