Gujarat Maritime Cluster Appoints Madhvendra Singh As CEO

| Updated: January 30, 2023 17:45

Madhvendra Singh has been appointed as the Gujarat Maritime Cluster’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by Gujarat Ports Infrastructure Company Limited.

The Gujarat Maritime Cluster (GMC) is the country’s first commercial maritime cluster of its kind, with the goal of developing a hub for international-standard maritime services. In GIFT City in Gandhinagar, the Gujarat Maritime Cluster plans to host a wide range of maritime, shipping, and logistics service providers. Currently, India has one and only one maritime cluster.

One of the most significant advantages of the Gujarat Maritime Cluster is that it will bring together industry players, the government, academia (Gujarat Maritime University), and the Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre, enabling synergistic collaboration and accelerating value creation in the maritime sector. This is in addition to giving regional maritime businesses a crucial platform to express their views and interests.

The company said in a statement that “His appointment at the helm of GMC, and his wealth of knowledge and experience, shall aid Gujarat in converting itself into a Global Hub for International Maritime Services by bringing all the relevant stakeholders together by targeting to match and further define the Global Best Practices in the maritime and shipping industries, thus helping in achieving effectiveness and efficiency across all spectrums of the services, which shall form an integral part of the cluster.”
