The biggest surprise in the Gujarat Cabinet’s expansion of Friday has been the elevation of minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi as the deputy chief minister.
The 26-member cabinet, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, is a mix of seniors and youngsters, whom the party is looking forward to developing as the second rung of leadership for the times to come.
But, let us look at whether education matters. Well, probably not. At 40, Sanghavi is one of the youngest deputy chief ministers in the history of Gujarat. However, when it comes to education, he has studied till class IX.
If Sanghavi has studied up to grade IX, there are four other ministers who have studied a maximum up to Grade XII. One minister has done first year of graduation.
Albeit, there are ministers who are highly educated as well. Here is a look: Jitendra Vaghani (B.Com, LLB), Arjun Modhwadia (B.E. Mechinical), Pradyuman Vanja has masters degree, Kanubhai Desai (B.Com, LLB), Praful Pansariya (Masters in Political Science), Manisha Vakil (M.A., B.Ed, P.hd), Rivaba Jadeja (Mechanical Engineering) and Kamlesh Patel (M.Sc., B.Ed).
