Gujarat: PM Modi To Dedicate Asarva- Udaipur Broad Gauge Conversion Railway Line

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to dedicate the section of the Asarva (Ahmedabad)-Himatnagar-Udaipur Gauge Converted Line to the nation on Monday. PM will be on a three day visit to poll-bound Gujarat.

Completed at the cost of Rs 2,482.38 crore, the 299-km stretch will enhance the connectivity between the residents of these areas with the rest of the country. It will also help tourists, traders, manufacturing units, and industries around this region. The tiles industries in Himatnagar will also be hugely benefitted from this project.

The new alternate route for Ahmedabad and Delhi, this line will serve Ahmedabad, Shamlaji Road, Himatnagar, Nandol, Dahegam, Dungarpur, Prantij, and Udaipur as major stations and will create additional employment opportunities in the area.

Alongwith Ahmedabad -Udaipur line, PM Modi will dedicate the 58 km Gauge Converted Lunidhar – Jetalsar broad-gauge section also. The 48 km Dhasa – Lunidhar section was dedicated by the prime minister in earlier in June. The Lunidhar – Jetalsar is completed at the cost of Rs. 452 crore.

Thanks to the Dhasa-Lunidhar project, the connectivity to the Gir sanctuary, Somnath temple, Diu, and Girnar hills will be facilitated. The project will have a positive impact on the economies of Amreli, Rajkot, Junagadh, Gir Somnath and Porbandar districts of Gujarat.

The new sections will decongest the Rajkot – Viramgam route and provide a shorter route for Bhavnagar from Veraval and Porbandar, apart from facilitating facilitate an alternate route for Ahmedabad and other parts of the nation from Veraval and Porbandar.
