Gujarat Police Announces Massive Recruitment Drive for 2024

 The Gujarat Police Bharti Board has officially announced a massive recruitment drive to fill up 12,472 vacancies for various posts including Constables, Sub-Inspectors, and Jail Sepoys. The announcement was made on March 12, 2024, and the application process is expected to commence by the last week of March.

Vacancy Details

The board is inviting applications from both male and female candidates for the following posts:

  • Unarmed Police Sub-Inspector (male) – 316 posts
  • Unarmed Police Sub-Inspector (female) – 156 posts
  • Unarmed Police Constable (male) – 4422 posts
  • Unarmed Police Constable (female) – 2178 posts
  • Armed Police Constable (male) – 2212 posts
  • Armed Police Constable (female) – 1090 posts
  • Armed Police Constable (SRPF, male) – 1000 posts
  • Jail Sepoy (male) – 1013 posts
  • Jail Sepoy (female) – 85 posts

Eligibility Criteria

For the Constable position, candidates aged between 18 and 33 years are eligible to apply. For Sub-Inspector posts, the minimum age is 20 years with the upper age limit being the same. There is a three-year relaxation in the age limit for candidates from Other Backward Classes, while Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates enjoy a five-year relaxation.

Educational requirements vary by post. For the Constable position, candidates should have completed their senior secondary/10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised board. For Sub Inspector roles, candidates need a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or board.

How to Apply

Interested candidates can apply online through the official website at ojas.gujarat.gov.in. The application process involves registration, filling out the application form, uploading essential documents, completing the payment process for the application fees, and finally, submitting the application. Candidates are advised to download a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises several stages which include the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), the Physical Standard Test (PST), a written test, and a medical test. Candidates must successfully pass each level to move to the next stage.

Prospective candidates are advised to keep a close eye on the official website for any updates regarding the application process. The tentative deadline for applications is slated for April.
