Gujarat recorded 2909 Covid cases today, 988 drops from yesterday’s tally of 3897 and 21 deaths in the last 24 hours. However, with 21 Covid-19 fatalities, the cumulative number of deaths climbed to 10,688 in Gujarat, the state health department said in a release.
Six people who succumbed to the Covid infection were from Ahmedabad. Vadodara (4),Surat (2), Bhavnagar (3), Gandhinagar (1), Valsad (1), Jamnagar (1), Dahod (1), Sabarkantha (1).
Besides 21 deaths, as many as 215 Covid positive patients are on ventilator support in Gujarat. The state has been reporting over 20 Covid fatalities each day since January 24.
With today’s update of daily cases, the state’s active cases tally stood at 38,644.
Ahmedabad city remained the most significant contributor, with 928 cases. Other notable contributors include Vadodara (462), Rajkot (77), and Surat (90).
