Gujarat reported 596 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections to 12,43,327, according to a state health department official.
During the day, 604 patients recovered from the infection, bringing the total number of recoveries to 12,27,605, while the death toll remained unchanged at 10,954, he said. According to the official, the state now has 4,768 active cases, with eight patients on ventilator support.
While Ahmedabad city remained the biggest contributor with 208 cases. Other major contributors include Surat with 74 cases, Vadodara with 54 cases, Mehsana with 39 cases ,and Banaskantha with 37 cases.These five regions made up for 70% of the Covid cases recorded.
On Monday, 69,904 individuals received the Covid-19 vaccination in Gujarat, bringing the total doses given to 11.25 crore.
