Gujarat Registers 947 New Covid-19 Cases, Three Deaths In Last 24 Hours

In a notch lower than the previous day, Gujarat logged a total of 947 fresh covid-19 cases on Friday I’m the last 24 hours.

With a total of 33 per cent new covid-19 cases off total cases in the state, Ahmedabad registered 305 new cases on Friday.

The city was followed by Vadodara with 140, Mehsana with 89, Rajkot with 83, Surat 66, 32 each in Gandhinagar and Kutch, 31 in Amreli and 19 in Banaskantha among others. All other districts reported new daily cases either below 15 or no case at all.

Apart from this, the state reported three deaths of covid-19 patients with one each in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Morbi. With this, the death toll in the state increased to 10,375 on Friday.

In the last 24 hours, as many as 1198 more covid-19 patients recovered from the infection. So far, a total of 12,42,561 patients have recovered from covid-19 and with this, the recovery rate in the state reached 98.65 per cent.

The total active caseload on Gujarat reached 5,992 cases with highest of 2,043 in Ahmedabad, followed by Vadodara with 879, Surat with 495, 379 in Gandhinagar and Mehsana with 334 among others.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department of Gujarat, the state administered first dose of covid-19 cases to 4,304 and second dose to 12,745 people in the last 24 hours. Overall, 5.43 crore first and 5.37 crore second doses were administered by the state.
