After over four months, Gujarat on Wednesday reported fresh Covid-19 cases above 500. Recording 529 new cases in the last 24 hours, the state marked the highest record in the past 130 days.
Ahmedabad once again topped the district-wise chart of the daily cases with the highest of 226 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of active cases in the city reached 1,275 on Wednesday. Also, the city is witnessing a spike in patients who reaches the doctors with more complaints of flu-like symptoms.
Ahmedabad, with around 40 per cent of total positive cases in Gujarat, was followed by Surat city with 99 positive cases, Vadodara city with 59 new cases, Surat along with Valsad reported 20 cases each and Kutch recorded a total of 19 fresh cases in last 24 hours on Thurday.
In last 24 hours, Gujarat witnessed recoveries of 408 Covid-19 patients with no deaths and now there are 2,914 Covid-19 active cases in the state.
Notably, it was in February when Gujarat last reported Covid-19 daily cases over 500 mark. On February 18, the state had reported 617 new cases in 24 hours.
