Gujarat: Southwest Monsoon To Enter State Tomorrow On June 13

Ahead of the scheduled date of June 15 for the onset of the southwest monsoon in Gujarat, the state is expected to witness the onset on Monday, June 13.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has currently covered Konkan along with Mumbai and this state of the monsoon suggests that it will enter the borders of Gujarat by Monday, June 13 and will gradually move to other districts of the state.

Apart from this, various districts of Gujarat continued to witness pre-monsoon activities on Saturday. Many regions in the state received light showers including Anandnagar, Gota and SG Highway areas of Ahmedabad along with Gir-Gadhada of Gir-Somnath district receiving 54 mm, Subir taluka of Dang receiving 48 mm and Kukarmuda of Tapi district receiving 35 mm of rains till 6 pm on Saturday.

Talking about the temperatures, Ahmedabad on Saturday was the hottest place in Gujarat with a maximum of 41 Degrees Celsius temperature. Ahmedabad was followed by Gandhinagar with a maximum temperature of 40.4 Degrees Celsius and Deesa with 40.2 Degrees Celsius.

Rainfall in India:

Meanwhile, the IMD on Saturday has predicted rainfall in over 15 states and union territories of the country. The states and UTs which are likely to receive the rainfall for the next five days, according to the IMD, include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Sikkim, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

Also, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra are likely to receive scattered rainfall, stated the weather forecasting department further.
