Gujarat Student Activist Alleges Another Paper Leak Scam In State

| Updated: January 5, 2022 09:47

Yet another trigger has been pulled by student activist Yuvrajsinh Jadeja. Best known for his recent expose in the state head clerk recruitment exam paper leak, on Tuesday, he alleged foul play in recruitment of officials for the state energy department. Far from a shot in the dark, it was aimed at a BJP leader and Dhansura’s Awadhesh Patel.

At a press conference held in the city today, Mr Singh alleged a scam in the name of recruitment. “It has been going on since the last few years. Is it possible that 18 students from the same village have been selected? Howcome the Aravalli district only boasts the chosen few,” he questioned, adding that a similar viciousness is inherent in the recruitment for UGVCL, DGVCL and GETCO.

According to the firebrand leader, a sum of Rs 1 lakh was paid in advance and the remaining Rs 20 lakhs after selection.

The modus operandi, as revealed by him, was leaking the paper online. “The government’s machinery now comprises people who use unfair means. It is a virtual leak and not much can be done. The selection process is clearly tilting in favour of a select region and caste, namely the Patels,” he lashed out at the state energy minister Kanubhai Desai.

The state government, taking cognisance of the allegations, has assured a free and fair probe headed by the state principal secretary.
