Gujarat Woman Accuses AAP Leader Gulab Singh Yadav of Sexual Exploitation

| Updated: November 13, 2022 19:53

A senior Aam Aadmi Party leader has been accussed of sexual exploitation by a woman in Gujarat who has openly come out with her story which she says is to “make people of Gujarat aware of the third rated leader”.

The woman from Surat has claimed that senior AAP leader and Gujarat Incharge Gulabsingh Yadav sexually exploited her. SHe claimed she was in a relationship with him before she came to  know that she was being exploited. According to the woman, Gulab also promised  her a ticket for the forthcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.

The woman has claimed that she later came to know that Gulabsinh adopted similar tactics and had a notorious track record with women. Gulabsingh is a MLA from Matiala constituency in New Delhi and has been associated with AAP since 2015. The woman had also released some video footage to back her claims. The woman claims that now Gulabsingh has threatened to kill her if she approaches the police.

“Tum mera kuch nahi bigad sakti. I can even kill you if you go against me. This is how he has threatened me. I am scared for my life”, the woman claimed. Vibes of India tried to contact Gulabsingh but he refused to communicate

Gujarat AAP spokesperson Karan Barot claimed that the video was morphed and this was a conspiracy to defame AAP.

The Congress also jumped into the issue with party spokesperson Pragati Ahir saying this was a very serious issue. “As of now, AAP does not have a single elected MLA in Gujarat. And look at the dirty business they have begun. “AAP leaders are exploiting women instead of protecting them. This is a disrespect to Gujarat, a State known for the safety of women. Women should take care of such thugs and beware of such parties.  AAP is polluting Gujarat. Women also should be careful and safeguard themselves against low level political loonies,” she told Vibes of India.

This incident has also reportedly led to internal disputes in the AAP party, AAP insiders said.

Those members who came in support of the victim and questioned Yadav–were reprimanded by the senior party leaders. Some members who took a stand for the victim were politely asked to quit the party.

Prashant Korat, Youth Wing President of Gujarat BJP said, “Aam Aadmi Party talks about respecting women but in reality, they are here to exploit women of Gujarat. Their party leaders are infamous for doing the same in Delhi and Punjab.”

Yadav Jailed For Extortion Charges

Gulabsinh Yadav as such has a tarnished reputation. In October 2016 Gulab Singh was arrested on charges of extortion from Surat. He was arrested by Delhi Police from Gujarat while he was on an election tour after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by a Delhi court. The charge sheet was filed against him under sections of 384 (punishment for extortion), 387 (putting person in fear of death in order to extort) 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC and relevant section Arms Act. Later, Metropolitan Magistrate Kishor Kumar granted relief to the politician on furnishing of a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety of like amount. Yadav had sought bail on the ground that other co-accused had already been granted the relief.
