Heat Is On: Gujarat Max Soars To 40 Degrees, Set To Rise Further

| Updated: April 23, 2024 18:07

Gujarat is once again in the grip of extreme heat after a brief dip in temperatures last week. The maximum in most districts of the state soared to 40 degrees or above from Monday.

After remaining unchanged for the next three days, the temperature will increase by two to three degrees, says the MeT department. By the end of April, many places in Gujarat may see temperatures in the 42-43 degrees range.

It is worth mentioning that, at the beginning of April, the Meteorological Department had predicted that there will be an outbreak of terrible heat in Gujarat in the last week of April and the first week of May. At present, winds are blowing over Gujarat from the north-west direction, due to which the temperature is slowly rising.

The maximum temperature of three districts of the state remained uniform during the last 24 hours. Ahmedabad, Kandla and Amreli recorded maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. While the maximum temperature of Gandhinagar was 38.6 degrees Celsius, the in Ahmedabad city reached 37 degree Celsius, which is likely to increase to around 40 degree Celsius late in the evening.
