Heena Murder Case: Court Grants 4-Day Remand Of Sachin Dixit

| Updated: October 11, 2021 15:25

The fate of 10 months old abandoned kid found in a Gaushala of Swaminarayan Temple in Pethapur, Gandhinagar on Saturday seems tragic. The Gandhinagar police and other forces undertook a massive hunt for the kid’s parents. As the result of this search operation, the kid was recognized as Shivansh and his father too was identified. With the news of the kid coming to light, the whole state was on stir, hoping and praying for the reunion of the kid with his family.

On one hand, the abandoned kid – recognised as Shivansh, turned 10 months old on Sunday and the other Shivansh’s father, Sachin Dixit was in police custody where he confessed to choking Shivansh’s mother and his live-in partner, Mehndi a.k.a Heena to death.

Following this, Sachin Dixit was presented before the court on Monday. Demanding 14-day remand for Dixit has cited certain reasons. The police said that the witnesses of the crime, which is necessary to find, are yet to be ascertained. Also, Sachin often changes his statements and is not cooperating in the investigation. Various CCTV footages and two mobiles are to be seized and investigation from an angle of the possibility of someone else too involved in the case is also pending. Hence, they said, the 14-day remand is necessary.

In against this, Sachin’s lawyer requested the court to reject the 14-day remand application, saying that at first, the police have not mentioned the FIR number. Also, CCTV cameras are everywhere, so remand for these many days is unnecessary.

At the end of the arguments from both sides, the court has granted a 4-day remand of Sachin Dixit to the police.
