Helicopters And Aircraft On Display At Air Force Exhibition

A three-day “Know Your Air Force” exhibition was inaugurated by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat at the SWAC Communication Flight in Ahmedabad’s Meghaninagar area on Saturday. The evening event was marked by an hour-long performance by the Air Force band, which played popular patriotic tunes, interspersed with a narration of the exploits of the Air Force in battle scenarios like the Kargil War. The top brass of South Western Air Command, along with their families, were in attendance.

The exhibition, which will be open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm till Monday, features aircraft, missiles, weaponry systems as well as a flight simulator. The aircrafts on display include a SU-30 MKI developed by Russia’s Sukhoi Division and built under license by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and a Jaguar deep penetration strike aircraft developed by British Aerospace and built by HAL.

Also on display are a number of helicopters, including the advanced American light helicopter MK-IV and the MI-17, which is used for transportation of troops and as an air ambulance for casualty evacuation.
