5432 Kms, 145 Public Gatherings, 11 Promises: Here’s What To Expect In Congress’ Parivartan Sankalp Yatra

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Jagdish Thakor on Saturday announced the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra and its roadmap. Gujarat Congress will embark on  this yatra from October 31. The party will launch the campaign in 175 of the 182 Assembly constituencies in the State. The yatra will cover 5432 kilometres and will reach out to over 4.5 crore people of the State. 

Chhattisgarh CM and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel will participate in the Central Gujarat leg of the campaign from Fagvel village in Kheda, Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh is due to participate in the Saurashtra leg from Nakhatrana in Kutch. Former CM of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath is scheduled to participate in the yatra from Somnath, while Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Wasnik will participate at Jambusar in Bharuch.

Jagdish Thakor said at a press briefing in Ahmedabad “Bhuj to Rajkot Yatra in Saurashtra was launched by Digvijay Singh.  The Somnath to Ahmedabad yatra was started by Hariprasad B.K. and Gandhinagar yatra –from Vadgam in Banaskantha will be flagged off by Ashok Gehlot. Balasinor to Vadodara yatra will be launched by Sachin Pilot and  Jambusar to Umargam yatra in South Gujarat will be started by Mukul Wasnik.”

Earlier,  AICC In-Charge of Gujarat Raghu Sharma said that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will also visit poll-bound Gujarat. 

Rajasthan model of governance and the guarantees around healthcare, employment and education will be discussed at various public gatherings. In total there will be 95 rallies in this yatra. This move comes after BJP’s Gaurav Yatra that involved three different routes and strategically covered the tribal belt of Gujarat.
