Hillary Clinton Posts Dancing Image To Support Finland PM Marin

| Updated: August 29, 2022 14:36

Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton encouraged the world to “keep dancing” on Sunday, supporting the party-loving Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin.

While still the secretary of state, Clinton’s post featured a picture of herself dancing at a crowded bar on a trip to Colombia in 2012. It concluded with the words “Keep dancing, @marinsanna.”

Marin quickly responded, tweeting back, “Thank you, @Hillary Clinton,” and including a heart emoji.

Marin was seen dancing and having a good time with several friends and celebrities in a recently leaked video.

The 36-year-old politician’s freedom to attend a private event with friends has been defended by others, including Clinton, who have disagreed with critics who claim it demonstrated unacceptable behaviour for a prime minister.

In her speech to her fellow Social Democrats, Marin stressed the value of occasionally having fun.

“I am human. And I too sometimes long for joy, light and fun amidst these dark clouds,” said Marin, the world’s youngest prime minister. She added that she had not missed “a single day of work.”

However, she experienced additional backlash after a picture of two ladies raising their shirts during a gathering at the prime minister’s house in July surfaced.

Marin apologised once more.

President Barack Obama appointed Clinton, 74, to lead the State Department from 2009 to 2013.

She ran as the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016. Despite being heavily favoured, she suffered a stunning upset loss to Donald Trump, a real estate mogul.
