Gandhinagar police reported a murder case on Friday morning. The dead body of a 25-year old boy with stabs on his neck was found near the public garden by the local residents of Shivam society which is located in Sector 27. The person was identified as Devansh Bhatia. He was staying alone in a rented apartment in Shivam society. He was working with the recently inaugurated hotel The Leela Gandhinagar for the past four months. His last working night was on October 6. Previously Devansh was an employee of Hotel Courtyard Marriott, Satellite, Ahmedabad. His family is based out of Padra locality, Vadodara. It is speculated he was murdered around 3am.
According to police sources, Bhatia had a brawl near his workplace a few nights ago. The murder was executed while he was returning from work. The murder investigation is carried out under the direction of Gandhinagar SP Mayur Chavda. “It is registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Punishment for murder is applicable in the case. The investigation team includes Sector 21 police station’s PI MP Bharwad, local crime branch PI Sindhav and special operations Group PI Pawar. The case is under investigation.” The police officials are checking the CCTV footage near the area and working on several loose leads. His family was informed and they have reached Gandhinagar.
