IIMA is gearing up for its 57th annual convocation scheduled on April 13 Falguni Nayar, a Gujarati billionaire, and an IIMA postgraduate will address the convocation in her alma mater as the Chief Guest, on April 13.
Nayar is an Indian businesswoman who runs the beauty and lifestyle retailer Nykaa. She is one of two self-made women Indian billionaires. Nayar grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra, in a Gujarati family. She is a graduate of Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and a postgraduate of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Nayar became the richest woman Indian billionaire shortly after Nykaa went public, with a net worth of $6.5 billion. Nykaa is an Indian e-commerce company based in Mumbai and was founded by Falguni Nayar in 2012. It sells beauty, wellness, and fashion products online, on mobile apps, and in 84 physical locations. It was the first unicorn startup in India to be led by a woman in 2020.
