The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted isolated heavy rainfall over East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat within the next five days.
IMD has issued an orange alert for 12 states till September 26. The weather forecasting agency stated that the monsoon trough is currently to the south of its normal position and is likely to remain so for the next five days.
IMD said that fairly widespread to widespread rainfall are likely over Gujarat and Rajasthan during September 21- September 25.
Rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall will decrease in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh till September 24.
A yellow alert has also been issued by the IMD for nine districts including Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Amravati, Wardha, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, and Washim districts. While IMD has also issued a warning for bad weather in Delhi with possibility of waterlogging and disruption of traffic on Wednesday.
