Indian Coast Guard Ship C 419 rescued an unconscious fisherman from fishing boat ‘Dhan Prasad’ despite rough seas and challenging weather. The evacuation was coordinated by Indian Coast Guard Station Pipavav which received information from Fisheries Association, Jafrabad regarding head injury to the crew.
On receipt of information, ICG launched helicopter from Porbandar. The helicopter located the boat carrying the injured fisherman and assisted the ship to reach the location. He was provided first aid, evacuated and handed over to the local fisheries association at Pipavav harbour to be moved to hospital.
He is reported to be stable. This is second such evacuation from sea by ICG in last 48 hours where an injured fisherman has been evacuated from sea.
