Indian Railways has taken a major decision today – especially for the tour operators, under which any state government or firm can rent a train. The Ministry made the decision after having rigorous discussions with relevant stakeholders.
Under this service, Railways will levy minimal charges and the trains will be operated for tourist places.
Bharat Gaurav train
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced to run Bharat Gaurav Trains. These trains will be based on a theme showcasing the culture and heritage of India. The train can be operated by both – private sector and IRCTC and the fares of these trains will be decided by the tour operator.
According to the Railways, 3333 coaches i.e. about 190 trains have been allotted. The Railway Minister said that it may increase the number of trains in future if they receive a positive response.
The Railway Minister said that Bharat Gaurav Train, Ramayana Train will give people a chance to get acquainted with Indian culture, its diversity and heritage. While in the coming time, the Ministry will also run Guru Kripa and Safari trains.
Application process started
Reportedly, the application process for these trains has started from today. Also, all types of trains – AC, non-AC, will be included. Apart from this, the firm renting the train will have the right to even decide the route.
