The wife of IPS officer Rajan Susara, Shaluben (age 47), died by suicide by hanging herself in their home in the Thaltej area of Ahmedabad on Saturday.
The incident came to light when local police and senior officials reached the spot and started an investigation. The incident has caused a stir in the police department. Rajan Susara is currently posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) at Valsad Marine Security.

The deceased’s nephew Mehul Zunja told the media that the deceased is my aunt and the uncle is my uncle. We also do not know how the incident happened. We were in a wedding event for four-five days. Uncle came back yesterday afternoon. Aunt came back from the wedding at night. Aunt returned at 10-10.30 pm. When aunt came, uncle was asleep.
Usually, aunt used to get up early in the morning for worship and go to the downstairs room. Today, when uncle came down and saw, the door was ajar. So he opened it and saw that he directly called the police.
The reason for suicide is not known. According to the information received, IPS officer Rajan Susara lives with his family in Shangrila Bungalow in Thaltej area. Today, his wife Shaluben committed suicide in the same bungalow. The reason why Shaluben committed suicide is not known at present.
The police started an investigation into all matters
Regarding this, Zone 7 DCP Tarun Duggal said that information about this has been received and our police team has reached there. At present, no reason for suicide has been found. But all matters are being investigated by our police.
