Jacqueline Alleges Sukesh Chandrashekhar Of Harassment

| Updated: February 12, 2024 18:33

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has filed a complaint with Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, claiming that he was harassing her and threatening her from inside a jail.

In her letter sent a few days ago to the police chief, Jacqueline said, “I am responsible citizen, who has found herself inadvertently embroiled in a case that has far-reaching implications for the rule of law and the sanctity of our “judicial system”. As a prosecution witness in a case registered by the special cell, I write to you amidst a harrowing ordeal of psychological pressure and targeted intimidation campaigns.”

The actress wrote a letter to the Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) and Police Chief Arora using her professional email address. She has attached three news pieces from December of last year, and one of the specialized departments has been ordered to launch a preliminary investigation into the allegation. “A man identifying himself as Sukesh is an accused, sitting behind bars in Mandoli Jail, and threatening her with intimidating tactics in open public domain,” it said. In order to protect her as a “prosecution witness” in a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), it further stated that a FIR under provisions of the IPC should be filed against him.

Fernandez “held back the truth till date”: Court

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the Delhi High Court that Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who is facing charges of money laundering amounting to Rs 200 crore, was aware of her involvement in the custody and usage of alleged conman Chanrashekhar’s proceeds of crime.
The case was brought before Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri, and the attorney for Jacqueline Fernandez requested an extension of time to provide a response to the ED’s argument. The next hearing is scheduled on April 15.

The ED said that Jacqueline “held back the truth till date” about the financial transactions with Sukesh Chandrasekhar and withheld information until presented with proof.
