Japan’s Hyogo Varsity Picks MSU Assistant Prof. As Visiting Fellow

The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) of Baroda today announced that Dr. Rajesh Bharvad, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Faculty of Arts, has been selected as a visiting fellow by the School of Economics and Management, University of Hyogo University, Kobe, Japan.

The Office of International Affairs said that the fellowship is sponsored by HORN project, Hyogo earthquake memorial 21st Century Research Institute (round trip airfare and 387600 Yen). The period of the visit will be from July 15 to September 17, 2022. This first-of-its-kind fellowship is an outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which took place in 2019, between the two universities.

Dr. Bharwad is expected to conduct research on the interdisciplinary topic ‘Environmental Economics in Contemporary Magic Real Novels’ focused on economic theories, and environmental humanities. He has also been invited to teach courses on English Language Skills at the host university.

Professor Vanisha Nambiar, Deputy Director, Office of International Affairs, who recently visited Japan, University of Hyogo, said, “This is one of the important achievements of OIA, which will offer an international opportunity to the scholar and increase the footprints of the MSU on a global scale.”

Professor Hitesh Raviya, Head of the Department of English, also expressed his happiness, “This is a very proud moment for the Department of English that such a prestigious fellowship has been awarded to Dr. Rajesh Bharvad.”

This fellowship will allow him to collaborate with colleagues abroad, share professional experiences, hone expertise, and diversify academic curricula.
