Justice Ramesh Sinha, senior judge of Allahabad High Court, took oath as the 15th Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Wednesday. Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan administered the oath of office to him at a function held at the Raj Bhavan. He took the oath in Hindi.
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, leader of the Opposition Narayan Chandel, former chief minister Raman Singh, Cabinet ministers Ravindra Choubey, Mohd Akbar, Premsai Singh Tekam and former minister Brijmohan Agrawal were present on the occasion.
Born in September 1964, Justice Sinha is a 1990 law graduate from Allahabad University. Known for his theoretical expertise and judicious rendering of justice, the legal eagle is equally deft in civil and criminal law. He comes with 21 years of practice at Allahabad HC.
At the beginning of the swearing-in ceremony, Chhattisgarh chief secretary Amitabh Jain read out the appointment letter issued by President Droupadi Murmu.
