Puneeth Rajkumar, Kannada actor had died at the age of 46 earlier today. Throughout his career, he was known as the ‘power star’ and ‘appu’ of the Kannada industry. He was the youngest of the five children of matinee idle Dr. Rajkumar.
Revenue Minister R. Ashok announced the demise of the actor at Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru. Puneeth Rajkumar is survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth and two daughter Drithi and Vanditha.
Dr Ranganath Naik of Vikram Hospital informed the media that Puneeth Rajkumar complained of chest pain in the morning and was rushed to the private clinic of his family physician where he underwent an ECG test. The test results showed a heart attack and was immediately rushed to the Vikram Hospital.
Dr Naik further said that when Puneeth Rajkumar reached the hospital there was no cardiac activity and was immediately to put on ventilator.
“But all efforts failed.”
Following the announcement of his death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled his death and said that his work will continue to inspire the generations of future.
Furthermore, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that his last rites will be performed as per state honors. His mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at Kanteerava Stadium.
