The killing of farmers in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpuri Kheri was not a case of death by negligence, but, was in fact a “planned conspiracy” – said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the case wherein Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra is the primary accused.
Adding to the charges of rough driving against Ashish Mishra, cops attempted to charge him with an attempt to murder charge and the charge of voluntarily causing hurt by writing to the judge.
Ashish Mishra and others area already booked with murder and conspiracy charges.
The new development signals huge trouble for Ajay Mishra as the BJP prepares for polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Eight people were killed on October 3 at Lakhimpur Kheri during the farmers’ protest wherein four farmers and a journalist were run over by an SUV driven by Ashish Mishra.
Videos that caused waves of shock and anger showed an SUV running over farmers at full speed.
