Major Box Office Collection : Film Collects Rs 36.50 Crore On First Weekend

Major, a biographical action drama, did well at the box office during its opening weekend, grossing Rs. 27 crores. The film, which was shot in Telugu and Hindi, is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, a victim of the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The film did the majority of its business in Telugu states, though the Hindi version’s collections picked up during the weekend after a slow start.

Saturday – Rs. 8.50 crores
Sunday – 9.30 crores

Major performed best in urban areas, as expected given the film’s target audience, but collections in smaller towns and cities were also strong. The overall trend over the weekend was strong, and it has already recovered the majority of its buyers’ investments and is expected to provide good returns. The film also did well overseas, grossing $900,000 in its first weekend in North America. Major grossed approximately Rs. 36.50 crores at the global box office.
