The Special Operation Group of Gujarat Police seized 1142 kg of marijuana worth Rs. 1.14 crore without pass-permit from Palsana of Surat on Saturday. The name of the prime accused is Bikas Gowda, aged 19 and is arrested. Three other wanted accused from Orissa, other than Bikas, were also involved in the conspiracy.
The above accused includes Babu Nahak and Vavkram Maglu Parida alias Viku and Sibram Nahak, who conspired with each other for the whole plan. Sibram Nahak sent of illegal marijuana for sale without pass-permit from Orissa. Babu Nahak and Viku ordered a quantity of this marijuana for retail sale, which was collected at Palsana in Surat. Bikas Gowda reached the above place at the request of Babu Nahak to sell this quantity of marijuana at retail, where he was arrested by the Special Operations Group of Surat. During the operation, a total of 1142.74 kg of marijuana worth Rs 1.14 crore, including two mobiles, an access and Rs. 750 cash were sezied.
