On its lush, verdant campus, MICA’s student-run Literary Committee hosted a two-day book fair. All of the staff, instructors, and students were engrossed in selecting their favourite books! The books were offered for purchase at a steep discount! As the oldest continuously degree-granting college of art and design in the nation, MICA is located at Ahmedabad, deeply connected to the community.
Souptik Das, Senior member of the Literary Committee said, “We have seen how MICAns find solace in their favourite books after a tough day of assignments and classes. We saw that passion for all things literary and we wanted people to experience the thrill of a book fair at MICA and the sheer joy of owning their favourite books. Hence, the book fair was an absolute must for us here at Litcomm.”
Chirinjibi Thapa, another Senior LitComm member added, “The idea of the Book Fair was to give the students, at the comfort of their campus, the joy of browsing through collections of some of the best titles. It was an experience to see the students run their fingers through the smooth pages, take in that comforting smell of books, owing the book and delving into the joy of reading — the classic way. We got full support from the administration for the book fair and so far, the reception has been great, even better than we expected.”
