Three people were arrested by Gujarat police on account of blackmailing a 12 year old girl by threatening to post her nudes. The minor was raped by one of the accused 6 months ago. It is still unclear what role the other two arrested played in the crime, as of now. Investigation is still ongoing.
The victim, who is a native of Vav Taluka, attempted to commit suicide by consuming insecticide. Her family came to her rescue as they hurriedly took her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Her statement against the three accused was taken as soon as she regained consciousness.
After the girl’s statement, her father filed an FIR for rape against Kiran Patel, Vikram Patel and Dinesh Patel, who are all adults.
The victim in her statement revealed that Kiran had threatened her to visit him at his house, else he would murder his brother. Petrified for her brother’s life, she went to Kiran’s house. As soon as she reached there, she was forced to take her clothes off, and a video of her was recorded. She was raped after that.
She also shared that Vikram, and Dinesh helped Kiran record the video. They were also present when she was raped.
She further added that she was raped multiple times in the last six months. She was threatened with her video going viral on the internet. It is still unclear what role the two accomplices played in the crime. The victim shall be sent for medical examination as soon as she recovers.
