Modi 3.0 Is Evident: Exit Polls

| Updated: June 2, 2024 12:22

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is projected to prevail massively, according to an exit poll conducted by Axis My India on Saturday. This projection comes ahead of the results of the Lok Sabha election.

Based on the outcomes of the exit poll, the NDA is projected to win between 361 and 401 of the 543 parliamentary seats.

12 other exit polls have also projected a significant triumph for the ruling BJP-led NDA. These include Times Now-ETG (358), TV 9 Bharatvarsh-Polstrat (342), News 24-Today’s Chanakya (400), ABP News-C Voter (353-383), Republic Bharat-P Marq (359), India News-D-Dyanamics (371), Republic Bharat-Matrize (353-368), Dainik Bhaskar (281-350), News Nation (342-378), Time Now-ETG (358), India TV-CNX (362-392), and Jan Ki Baat (362-392).

Exit polls also indicated that the Left-led alliance would lose in Kerala and that the NDA would rule Karnataka and Maharashtra. Exit polls in Bengal indicated that the BJP would perform better than it did in the previous assembly election in 2022. Based on exit polls, the BJP is expected to be the only party with the most Lok Sabha seats in Bengal.

It is usually projected that the BJP leader and 73-year-old Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return to office for a third consecutive term. Due to a series of defections and electoral setbacks, the Congress is unable to compete with the BJP and is a part of the opposition alliance — INDIA.

With 303 seats, the BJP easily won the 2019 general elections, while the NDA increased the total to 352. The United Progressive Alliance, or UPA, gained 91 seats, while the Congress was able to obtain 52.

This time, the BJP has set a goal of 370 seats, and with the support of its allies, it aims to surpass 400. The Lower House of Parliament has 543 seats with a 272 majority mark.

On Tuesday, the election results will be declared. Further, exit polls are not accurate. Results may differ.
