Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, has once again been targeted with threatening emails, as per a statement released by the Mumbai police on Saturday. The messages contained warnings of dire consequences if he continued to disregard previous communication demanding a sum of Rs 400 crore.
According to the police, these menacing emails were sent between October 31 and November 1, and the sender identified themselves as Shadab Khan.
This development follows a pattern of threats that began with an initial email, which threatened death and a sum of Rs 20 crore if Ambani failed to comply. The extortion demands escalated with each subsequent email, reaching Rs 200 crore and eventually Rs 400 crore.
The Mumbai police noted that the sender cited the lack of a response to their previous messages as justification for raising the ransom.
The initial threat was reported to have been received on October 28, and since then, Ambani has continued to be the target of escalating demands and warnings.
