NCC Gujarat Hosts Felicitation Ceremony For Sports Shooting Competition

The NCC Directorate Office in Ahmedabad conducted a prize-distribution event for the champions of the inter-group sports shooting competition On Monday. All five of the Group Commanders attended the event.

Military Station Dhrangadhra hosted the 2022 Inter Group Sports Shooting Championship (IGSSC) from May 25–31 under the sponsorship of NCC Group Rajkot. After choosing their Group teams from their Inter Battalion Sports Shooting Competitions, all five NCC Groups, Rajkot, VV Nagar, Vadodara, Jamnagar, and Ahmedabad, participated in the event. The cadets participating in the event at Dhrangadhra Military Station and all participating groups have given it their all.

A total of 98 cadets participated in the competition, of which 30 were chosen for the NCC Directorate team. Also, 10 extra competitors were selected to be on reserve. There are 24 firing stations. Around 22 weapons with peep sights and open sights, and four firing stations. 177 air rifles, and two firing stations for air pistols. In the end, 20 cadets from the aforementioned categories will be chosen, and they will compete in the Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship (IDSSC), which will be held on July 2, 2022, in Ropar and Chandigarh.

ADG, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Major General Arvind Kapoor was pleased to notice the cadet’s commitment, focus, determination and dogmatic spirit in improving their firing scores. Additionally, the ADG hoped that a number of these cadets from Gujarat NCC will further get selected for the DGNCC Sports Shooting Team, to participate in the GV Mavalankar Shooting Championship. The ADG also encouraged the cadets to work hard and keep their focus on the competition and gave away certificates and gifts to the winner cadets in the IGSSC competition.
