NHSRCL Completes ‘Challenging’ Purna River Project

| Updated: June 15, 2023 12:27

The much-awaited construction of the second bridge by NHSRCL on Purna river is finally complete. The bridge, second after the completion of the bridge on Par River, is situated between Bilimora and Surat HSR station.

Officials associated with The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which completed the construction, told a national newspaper that the foundation work was challenging given that the water level in the river was rising 5-6 meter (fortnightly) during high tides.

They added that Purna was the second bridge to be completed on the MAHSR corridor after the first 320-m long river bridge on Par River, completed in January 2023.

Earlier, in April, the NHSRCL announced the completion of the first level of the Anand/Nadiad high-speed railway station. It’s the first station on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Corridor.

The officials further told the daily that construction — foundation, pier work and other infra works — is on in Narmada, Tapi, Sabarmati, Mahi and other rivers in different districts of Gujarat.
