In a Complaint Sent To Ministry Of Women And Child Development, three women professors have accused NID Director Praveen Nahar And Dy Director Tarun Deep Girdher Of Harassing and dismissing Women Faculty Members From Service Due To Personal Bias. Ministry has asked NID To Conduct Probe

National Institute of Design, the country’s premier design school, has been rocked by allegations of bias and harassment against women faculty members. Three women faculty members who have been dismissed have pointed accusatory fingers at NID Ahmedabad Director Praveen Nahar and Deputy Director, Prof Tarun Deep Girdher.

Sources said the women faculty members were from areas of graphic design and art and design.

The complainants have decribed the attitude of the Director and Deputy Direcotor as cruel, biased and bullying with misuse of power.

it is learnt that even when a written complaint had been filed against Nahar and Girdher, the institute’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has not instituted any probe in the allegation. it is also learnt that the committee was changed with a new head and some new members around two months back .

The ministry’s letter informs NID to carry out a detailed inquiry and investigation to probe the allegations without giving any deadline into the alleged harassment of three women faculty members.
