Nirma University Welcomes Integrated Management Batch Of 2022

Institute of Management, established in 1996 under Nirma University, welcomed the 2022 batch of Integrated BBA-MBA students. The students and teachers attended the inaugural ceremony on the Cisco WebX platform. Moreover, the director of Nirma University, Subir K Verma, welcomed the new class in his opening remarks and informed the students about the history of the institution. 

Bhavna Batra, Executive Director -People and Global People Programs Leader, S&P Global was the Chief Guest of the evening. She addressed the gathering, gave new perspectives to the freshers, and said, “Get comfortable with uncomfortable.” Later, Prof. Diljeetkaur Makhija expressed a vote of thanks.

During the event, many Nirma University Alumins also shared their experience and journey with IMNU. 

Dr Harald Friedl, Professor at the Institute for Health and Tourism Management, FH Joanneum, University of Applied Sciences, Graz, Austria took the second session of the event. He spoke on sustainable tourism practices. He addressed the problems the tourism industry has been facing and Covid 19’s impact on the same.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of environmental education and urged everyone to learn to adore nature and integrate care for nature and the environment into their practical life at home. 

Dr Harald Friedl while delivering his address, quoted Mahatma Gandhi, “There is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed”. His views gave guidance to the students on the importance of adopting a balanced system cultivation approach.
