Non-Vaccinated People In Surat To Not Get Access To SMC Services From Monday

The Surat Municipal Corporation will now allow to access its services to just fully vaccinated people in the city from November 15, Monday. The move by the corporation is intended to aware people take both doses and complete their Covid-19 vaccination.

Hence, from Monday onwards, the people who are not fully vaccinated, will not be able to access the BRTS and city bus services, zoo, aquarium, libraries, gardens, science centre, swimming pools, Gopitalo (amusement park) and all zonal and ward offices of SMC. However, the partially vaccinated people will be allowed to access these services after a negative Covid-19 test.

At present, Surat has 39 active cases of Covid-19. Three positive cases were found on Friday which increased to seven on Saturday in the city. Also, the city corporation has increased its testing capacity to carry out up to 7,200 Covid-19 tests per day which will be further increased to 10,000 tests per day in the city.
