The online registrations for medical, homeopathic, dental and ayurveda seats will commence from Wednesday, 17 November, 2021 in Gujarat. For 12,707 seats in all, the Admission Committee for Professional Under Graduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) will do the admission procedure this year.
The admission for 30 medical colleges with 2,242 seats and 36 colleges with a total capacity of 3,710 seats. Also, the state government is aiming to establish one medical college in every district of the state. The government is so aiming to set up eight new medical colleges across the state in near two years, adding 1,200 MBBS seats making up 21% of the total number of current seats in the state.
Morbi, Godhra and Porbander are expecting to get new medical colleges in the current academic year of 2021-22 for which the National Medical Commission (NMC) has also completed the inspection.
Apart from this, the state government has planned to start new medical colleges in Navsari, Veraval, Jam Khambhaliya, Navsari and Rajpipla.
