The Ahmedabad Income Tax Department organised an event to honour the Senior Most Pensioners on 9th June 2022. All the pensioners above the age of 75 were present during the event. The valedictory function was a part of the Azadi ki Amrut Mahotsav celebration during the iconic week from 6th-12th June.
The function was at Chanakya Hall, Aykar Bhavan, Ahmedabad. N.O. Parekh, the 94-year-old retired Chief CIT from the 1951 batch joined the department as a class-one officer. He was also one of the first Indian Revenue Services Officers from Gujarat.
Parekh was among the eleven senior-most pensioners, felicitated by Ravindra Kumar, Present Chief CIT, Ahmedabad, and Satinder Singh Rana, Chief CIT-1, Ahmedabad. The Income Tax Department presented the pensioners with shawls, mementos, and flowers. They shared their experiences with the work environment of the Income-Tax Department.
The pensioners also imparted knowledge about the taxation system of their era. Further, they expressed their gratitude towards the Income-Tax department and the government. Ravindra Kumar assured them of co-operation and support on all matters and wished them many more years of health and happiness.
