Vadodara District Education Officer, Navneet Mehta, issued a notice to Phoenix school, Makarpura in Vadodara, over a fire incident. He gave three days to the school for a reply. Moreover, he might take strict actions against the school, including revoking accreditation.
Last Friday, the third floor of Phoenix school caught fire during teaching hours in the morning. The school reported that smoke from the fire engulfed the third and fourth-floor classrooms. Nonetheless, the fire brigade reached the spot and safely rescued everyone inside the school.
However, Vadodara DEO Took note of the incident and sent his team to the school to investigate the incident. Later, they issued a notice to the school and asked for an explanation for the fire incident.
The DEO stated that the administration must take strict actions against the school if a basis is absent. Furthermore, he informed the media that 350 schools already have a NOC, and a few are yet to receive it.
