PM Modi To Inaugurate Two-Day Science Program In Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the two-day Science Conclave of the Ministers of Science and Technology (S&T) from every State and Union Territory (UT) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on September 10, 2022. Recently, the Prime Minister Gujarat on August 27-28 to inaugurate several projects across Gujarat. He inaugurated the Atal Bridge on Ahmedabad Riverfront and took part in the Khadi Utsav.

PM Modi’s upcoming trip to Gujarat was announced by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who also stated that the Conference will have a new format with an emphasis on emerging technologies that are pertinent to each of the many States and UTs and their best applications for “ease of life.” He added that more national synergy as a result of the conference will enhance the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) ecosystem by assisting in the breaking down of silos between the Center and the States.

The two-day Science Conclave is anticipated to draw in the Science & Technology Ministers of all 28 States, Administrators of 8 UTs, key State officials (Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries in charge of S&T in the states, and all Science Secretaries to the Government of India, including DST, DBT, DSIR, MoES, DAE, DoS, ICMR, ICAR, Jal Shakti, MoEF & CC, and MNRE

The two-day Science and Technology Conclave, according to Dr Jitendra Singh, will take on a new dimension as many action-oriented decisions will be made and all States and UTs will be requested to establish their STI policies that follow the model of the National STI policy.

Singh said, in the true spirit of cooperative federalism, the Centre will assist States in formulating their State STI policies. He added that the Centre will also work jointly with States to address their Specific STI needs, challenges and gap areas and evolve solutions.
