Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express on September 24 around 12:30 p.m. This will be Gujarat’s third Vande Bharat train.
The train will halt at Rajkot, Wankaner, Surendranagar, Viramgam and Sabarmati, completing the entire journey of 330 kms from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad in just 5 hours, at an average speed of 71 kmph
In celebration of this event, a series of programs will be held at various railway stations spanning from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad.
Currently, three Vande Bharat Express trains—Mumbai Central-Gandhinagar Capital, Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Jodhpur and Indore-Bhopal—ply under Western Railway.
During a trial run from Sabarmati to Viramgam, the train achieved speeds ranging from 110 to 120 kilometers per hour. An inspection was carried out by operating the train at speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour along the railway track leading to Saurashtra and no glitches or issues were detected throughout the trial run. Every facet of the train, including its air conditioning, doors, executive chair car, CCTV system, and WiFi connectivity, were checked.
