Prakash Magdum Takes Charge As The Next ADG Of PIB In Gujarat

Prakash Magdum took charge of the Gujarat Press Information Bureau (PIB) as the Additional Director General (ADG). On July 18, Magdum replaced Dr. Dheeraj Kakdia, who got appointed as the Additional Director General at the Registrar of Newspaper of India (RNI) Headquarters in Delhi.

Prakash Magdum, is an IIS officer from the 1999 batch. He has previously served as a Director at the National Film Archives of India (NFAI) headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra.

Magdum has also served in various states for media units of central Government, including Assam and Kerela, with a tremendous experience in the media sector.

Further services include working as the Registrar in Pune for the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII). Magdum has also been a Defense spokesperson in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerela and has written numerous articles on film preservation in essential publications.

PIB is an agency of the Government of India under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Bureau conveys information on government plans, policies, programme initiatives and achievements to print, electronic and web media. Its head acts as the Official Spokesperson of the Government of India, holding the position of the Principal Director General.
Its headquarters is in New Delhi, National Media Centre, Press Information Bureau.
