A teenage boy committed suicide on Sunday by hanging himself in his home in Gujarat. The 17 year- old boy, Anand Agrawat, worked in a store on Yagnik Road. Police said that they learnt from his family that he was addicted to the online game PUBG. His house is under the jurisdiction of Rajkot University Road police station in Gujarat.
Anand’s mother said that she saw him going to the washroom. She said that she knocked on the door and called out his name several times but there was no response. When he did not respond to calls on his mobile phone, she got anxious and alerted others in the family. She called her older son, who lives in the Mavdi neighborhood. It was only after they broke open the bathroom door that they found Anand’s body hanging with a stole on the grill. In the last two years, there has been a discernible rise in the number of suicides among young PUBG addicts in Rajkot and other parts of Gujarat.
