Rahul Gandhi minced no words when he said Gujarat-based Gautam Adani “employed” the Prime Minister of India. Stirring a hornet’s nest, Congress leader Gandhi said anyone who “dared” to speak out against the national parrot was witch-hunted in India. The King is very fond of his parrot. Modi’s soul is in Adani, RaGa said. He has been referring to PM Modi as the King and Gautam Adani as his parrot.
Today’s developments came after several leaders were shocked to receive a message on their iPhones warning them that they were being targeted by “state-sponsored attackers”.
TMC MP Mahua Moitra, who had recently attacked Gautam Adani, was the first to make the Apple threat public.
Apple Message
“Apple believes you are being targeted by state-sponsored attackers who are trying to remotely compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID. These attackers are likely targeting you individually because of who you are or what you do. If your device is compromised by a state-sponsored attacker, they may be able to remotely access your sensitive data, communications, or even the camera and microphone. While it’s possible this is a false alarm, please take this warning seriously.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said PM Modi was very perturbed with attacks on his confidant Gautam Adani. Gandhi has consistently been saying that Modi-Adani is a partnership deal. “Modi’s soul is Adani”, Rahul Gandhi said claiming that he had adequate evidence to prove their unholy alliance but he was waiting for the right time.
Gandhi named various politicians, including TMC leader Mahua Moitra, Congress Leader Pawan Khera, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yechury, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, Chattisgarh Deputy CM TS Singh Deo, AAP Leader Raghav Chadha, who got the same notice; Rahul, KC Venugopal and at least four others associated with his office got similar messages.
Flagging a copy of the Apple message, Rahul said, “You can tap (phones) as much as you want. I don’t care. If you want, I can give my phone to you. We are not the ones to get afraid. We are the ones to fight back”.

All leaders who received the Apple message shared in on X. Moitra shared the screenshot of the warning message from Apple on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “Received text and email from Apple warning me that the government is trying to hack into my phone and email. Home Minister’s Office – get a life. Adani and PMO bullies – your fear makes me pity you.”
Apart from TMC Mahua Moitra, Members of the INDIA alliance and other opposition MPs, including Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, AAP MP Raghav Chadda, Congress leaders – Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Thakoor, Pawan Khera, KC Venugopal, Supriya Shinatre, Chattisgarh Deputy CM – T.S. Singhdeo, Revanth Reddy, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, along with Shiv Sena and Marxist party leaders Priyanka Chaturvedi and Sitaram Yechury and BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao and several others associated with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s office received the Apple message. Later in the evening, some BJP leaders claimed that they had also received it.
Apart from politicians, Observer Researcher Foundation (ORF) president Samir Saran and journalists Siddharth Vardarajan of The Wire, Independent journalist Revathi, Ravi Nair of OCCRP; Regional Editor, South Asia, OCCRP – Anand Mangnale and resident editor, Deccan Chronicle –Sriram Karri, too said that they had received similar notifications from Apple.
Sharing the screenshots Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote X (formerly Twitter),”Funny that only opposition got the memo of surveillance, even the algorithm was selective in its choice!”
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted about the attack, “Glad to keep underemployed officials busy at the expenses of taxpayers like me! Nothing more important to do?”
Meanwhile, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi slammed BJP on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Idhar tote kee gardan pakadi, udhar kroor raja tadap raha hai! Jitani jasoosi karani hai kar lo – ham darne vaale nahin, ladne vaale hain.”
Meanwhile, independent journalist Revanthi tweets, “Phone was getting drained of battery, majorly the last few days and was acting weird. Received this message last night.
Not the first time! But again makes you feel unsafe and even angry.”

Apple issued a notice and clarified on the issue and said, “Apple does not attribute the threat notifications to any specific state-sponsored attacker,”
The company claims that state-sponsored attackers are very well-funded and sophisticated, and their attacks evolve over time. Detecting such attacks relies on threat intelligence signals that are often imperfect and incomplete.
