In a recent development, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved an additional budget provision of Rs 44 crore for the Senior Citizens Pilgrimage Scheme. The move aims to provide enhanced support and travel assistance to senior citizens in the state.
The Senior Citizens Pilgrimage Scheme is targeted to assist 40,000 individuals during the financial year 2023-24. Under the scheme, eligible passengers will receive monetary aid to cover their travel expenses to various pilgrimage sites across the country. Both air and rail travel options will be made available to facilitate the pilgrims’ journeys.
The Rajasthan state government has announced ambitious plans to construct a total of 473 buildings for medical healthcare centres throughout the state. With a budget of Rs 2,185 crore dedicated to this purpose, the initiative seeks to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the region.
The proposed buildings will encompass a wide range of medical facilities, including community centres, primary healthcare centres, sub-health centres, district hospitals, trauma centres, satellite hospitals, mother and child hospitals, sub-district hospitals, and other essential medical centres. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance the accessibility and quality of healthcare services for the residents of Rajasthan.
By investing in both the Senior Citizens Pilgrimage Scheme and the expansion of healthcare infrastructure, the Rajasthan government demonstrates its commitment to the welfare and well-being of its citizens. These initiatives are expected to have a positive impact on the lives of senior citizens and the overall healthcare ecosystem in the state.
