Rajasthan BJP leader Dr Satish Poonia on Friday alleged the Rajasthan model of governance as complete failure. He was in Ahmedabad to campaign for the party before Gujarat elections 2022.
Speaking at BJP’s Ahmedabad office, Rajasthan BJP Chief said, “I want to warn Gujaratis against the fake promises of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. Rajasthan model is number one in unemployment, we have 17 rape cases per day, seven murders per day and there is hardly any development. Is this called a model of development? I warn Gujarat to not fall for such fake promises.”
Rajasthan Reports Highest Rape Cases
A total of 31,677 rape cases were registered in India during 2021 – or around 87 rape cases every day on average – reveals the latest compilation by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Rajasthan recorded the highest number of rape cases in the country, while Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh followed.
Rajasthan reported the highest number of rape cases in the country in 2021, with an increase of more than 19% in comparison to 2020. Of the total 31,677 rape cases registered across the country last year, 6,337 were reported in Rajasthan, followed by 2,947 in Madhya Pradesh and 2,845 in Uttar Pradesh.
The Congress party in Gujarat announced that it will include several welfare schemes, run by the government in the neighbouring Rajasthan, as part of the party’s election manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress’ senior observer Ashok Gehlot was in Gujarat to campaign for Gujarat elections and promote Rajasthan Model of governance.
Epic failure of Rajasthan Model
“Under the Modi government people got railway facilities across India. BJP government took a firm stand against terrorism in Kashmir. The Gujarat model of governance is replicated across India and we should be proud of it instead of falling for the trap. My team and I are in Gujarat to uncover the truth about the epic failure of the Rajasthan government in supporting its own people–forget about replicating it in other states.”adds Poonia.
The official data of National Crime Records Bureau states that in the last four years more than 7,97,000 criminal cases were registered in Rajasthan. “Rahul Gandhi is leading Bharat Jodo yatra but first he should unite Congress party members in Rajasthan. They are all divided and as a result, people of Rajasthan have to suffer.”
