| Updated: January 4, 2023 17:39

A 29-year-old from Rajkot is the vocalist and artist behind a song that features 100 official worldwide languages from 250 countries. Guinness Book of World Records recognised Viidhii Upadhyay’s composition “We Are One” as the music single that includes the most languages.

Viidhii describes “We Are One” as a global anthem for peace that conveys Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’s message.

The song written, composed, and sung by Viidhii had earlier been recognised by the India Book of Records & Asia Book of Records.

She has represented India at the Dubai Expo 2020 and Global Village Dubai. She hopes to perform the song at the United Nations, the G20 Summit, and World Expos.

Viidhii says that “it is my effort to remind every global citizen of the oneness that we all share as humans.”

Viidhii’s family is musically inclined. Shailesh Upadhyaya, her father, is a businessman and a musician. At the age of 3, Viidhii made her television debut on Doordarshan. Since then, she has performed playback singing for four films, six TV series, and a web series. Viidhii is an accomplished guitarist, pianist, keyboardist, djembe, melodica, dhol, dholak, and duff player, as well as a Gold Medalist in Indian classical music (vocals).

Viidhii’s mother, Bharti Upadhyay, recalled that as a child, she would spontaneously compose songs based on any word that was given to her. “She received formal music training in Rajkot and attended a number of courses in Mumbai, including a Diploma in Music Production.”
